This week, we want to highlight Carson Pickett, the first soccer player with a limb difference on the US Women’s National Team (USWNT). She made her international debut on June 28 in a match against Colombia, and the US won the game 2-0. Carson currently plays for the North Carolina Courage in the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL). She’s previously played for the Orlando Pride, Brisbane Roar, and Seattle Reign FC.
Carson has played professional soccer since 2016 and has been vocal about using her platform to spread awareness and normalize limb differences. Her April 5 Instagram post honoring Limb Loss and Difference Awareness Month is an inspiring reminder that we all have our paths to self-acceptance and self-confidence.
Carson is a reminder that anyone can achieve a dream they set their mind to! We hope to see her making more goals and strides toward limb difference representation, and we’ll be cheering her on!
