Taking Flight: MSP’s Mock Airplane Calms Anxious Travelers

A new plane cabin simulator has arrived at Concourse C at MSP, to help travelers prepare to fly with confidence.

Passengers with physical issues like wheelchairs, sensory issues such as autism, or those with service dogs can come to the airport on a day they are not scheduled to fly. The mock cabin is the latest initiative in the Navigating MSP program, which offers registration for monthly events to help travelers practice the experience of flying.

The plane is located between two gates in Concourse C but is closed off from stressful gawkers and uninvited members of the general public. As a bonus, the outside of the mock cabin is decorated with artwork from four teens involved with Juxtaposition Arts.

We are happy to see the community making travel more equitable and helping many people expand their horizons!
